Amen, Pastor 🙏🏻

One small question.

The inscription at the beginning of the psalm says “A song of degrees.”

What does that mean?

As I understand it, the psalms of degrees were psalms they would sing as they made their way to the temple for worship. They were intended to help prepare them to worship the Lord. Wouldn’t it be a great practice if families set aside certain hymns that they sang together on the way to church so they were spiritually ready to worship God?

So, with every song they sing they would become more prepared for worship?

The higher the degree of preparedness means the more prepared they are spiritually for worship of the Lord?

I think it was more like they had an order in which they sang them. So the closer they got to the house of God, a different hymn was sung
